MOVE THAT MOUNTAIN
My husband has never enjoyed tragic movies—dramas based on human suffering or sorrowful events that befall a main character with no recovery—and as I grow in the knowledge of God, I too find myself avoiding them. This change stems from understanding how much faith God expects us to have and how it should shape our expectations towards life and godliness. In the Bible, Jesus Himself expressed admiration for the faith of two individuals: the Roman centurion (Matthew 8:5- 13) and the woman of Canaan. Our God wants us to believe in Him for everything, both big and small, whether it's walking on the sea in a boisterous wind (Matthew 14:29- 31) or having enough to eat (Matthew 16:6-11). The verse that inspired this meditation is Matthew 17:20, where Jesus assures His disciples that faith, even as small as a mustard seed (one of the tiniest seeds), can move mountains.
